Check out this story in the Italian media - too funny!
Cartolina recapitata dopo 29 anni: dalla Svizzera a Palermo i saluti di un’alunna alla sua prof
A now-retired high school language teacher in Palermo gets a postcard from one of her students…written in 1979.
Now that’s slick - 29 years to deliver a postcard from Switzerland to Palermo!
Look, I know the reputation of Poste Italiane is dubious at best - here in il Palazzo, we’ve had our fair share of mail to relatives in Italy ‘vanish’, but you’ve got to ask where the postcard sat for 29 years?!
I mean, did it fall down the back of someone’s desk? Was is stuck in the work experience kid’s in-tray?
And one more thing. Let’s assume the student was after brownie points for sending his teacher a postcard…I want to know whether he got the good mark without the teacher-bait?
Given that the teacher wants to track the student down with his classmates for a party, let’s assume ‘yes’.
