Classes finished for the year - what next?

November 26th, 2008 · 2 Comments · life

I’m a little bit blue this week.  Classes are finished for the year and with low numbers, it doesn’t look likely that the school will continue the class in 2009.  Very sad.

I love the study.  It’s r-e-a-l-l-y hard work and I keep feeling like I’m wading through some sort of interminable swamp, but then every now and then I have a golden moment that makes it all worthwhile.

Like last week.  I was at a candidates’ forum (I’m standing for Local Government) and a resident introduced himself to the panel as Frederico, of Italian background.  When my turn came to answer his question, I jumped in with

Ciao Frederico, e mille grazie per la sua domande

That was cool!  Particularly when Frederico acknowledged me in return.

So what do I do to keep it going over the summer?

Well, this blog will be important to me.  So I hope you can come along for the ride!

I’ll also go back over my notes and tidy them up - things always fall away a little towards the end of the year and it will help to get my papers in some order; I’m going to start an italian journal where I jot down a couple of sentences each day; I’m also going to set myself to read an article in the italian media each day.

…And I’m going to start looking for a new school!

(Sun 30/11) P.S. I missed out on my Local Govt run…here is a great blog that has been tracking the results, and the website with the formal vote count…an honorable 3rd place.  Better luck next time.

Great news! My school is going to run the class in 2009, provided we can get 8 students. Fingers crossed…

And the good news…class is going ahead! Yippee. If I can get through this year, then I’ll receive a certificate that recognises my learning at a National Standard, so I can then enrol in other schools to a recognised standard.
Plus there’ll be an o-v-e-r-whelming sense of achievement!
